Recently, at the Siasun Smart Industrial Park, over a hundred mobile robots were lined up neatly in the workshop, ready for their final inspection and packaging. These robots are about to embark on a journey to Europe, marking a new chapter in the large-scale entry of Chinese mobile robots into the European new energy market!
From China to Europe: Chinese Mobile Robots Maintain Leadership in the New Energy Market
Even before the explosive growth of the new energy market in China, Siasun had already pioneered the development of robotic equipment for the industry. They were the first in China to develop a full product matrix of new energy mobile robots, addressing various challenges such as precision and safety in battery roll production. Siasun created an intelligent logistics solution covering the entire process, from raw materials/electrode roll storage, front-end electrode manufacturing, and mid-section cell synthesis to back-end battery assembly.
In the recent bid for the European factory project of a leading global smart battery technology company, Siasun overcame challenges such as time zone differences between China and Europe and communication barriers during the 20-month bidding process. Competing against eight internationally renowned rivals, Siasun won the contract and received high recognition from the client’s European team. The products being shipped primarily serve the client’s French factory, with orders for their UK super factory also scheduled for delivery soon.
This milestone marks a significant step for Siasun’s mobile robots in the European new energy market, highlighting the continued leadership of Chinese mobile robot companies in the global new energy sector.
Continuous Innovation: Combining Standardization with Customization to Meet Customer Needs
The products shipped to the European factory cover a wide range and large scale, including over 100 mobile robots in three main categories, over 300 storage racks in six categories, and 400 docking platforms in various types. In designing mobile robots, Siasun utilized its mature product matrix for the new energy sector while also developing customized innovative products to meet customer requirements. One of the standout innovations is the V-shaped slot forklift mobile robot.
The V-shaped slot forklift mobile robot uses a vision-based material recognition system to autonomously adapt to multiple production processes and handle five different material types, completing intelligent electrode roll transport and logistics data processing. Unlike traditional stacker and transport robots or other V-shaped slot mobile robots, this new product is smaller, more flexible, and features a unique design adaptable to various scenarios. It is set to be widely used in the new energy sector and other emerging industries.
Collaborating with Multiple Teams: Creating a Comprehensive Mobile Robot Solution
In the European factory project, Siasun faced not only the significant differences in processes between the foreign client and domestic new energy battery factories but also the challenge of providing a comprehensive mobile robot material handling solution that covered everything from front-end foil and powder materials to back-end module lines. Additionally, the project involved many different models and a large operational area, making coordination and execution even more complex.
Throughout the project, the Siasun team had to simultaneously communicate with teams from China, Japan, the UK, and France to discuss project plans, leveraging their rich project execution experience in the new energy sector. They also worked with numerous primary equipment suppliers and third-party vendors from China, Japan, Germany, and South Korea to address process details. Meanwhile, they had to accelerate the design, processing, and manufacturing of various products and carry out multi-line simultaneous testing across different process stages, demonstrating exceptional organizational and execution capabilities.
High Praise from the Client: Further Cooperation on the Horizon
“Professional, responsible, and efficient”—this is how the client’s European team described Siasun.
“We miss China and want to return to Shenyang”—this reflects the European team’s appreciation of Chinese culture.
Based on this successful collaboration, both sides have already strategically planned further cooperation in multiple global regions. This achievement marks an important step for Siasun in the overseas new energy market, as well as a significant step for Chinese robot companies in their internationalization efforts. It provides strong confidence for “Made in China” to expand its global presence and reach new markets around the world!
