According to New Strategy Low-speed Automated Driving All Media, CMICT Daxie Ningbo Port Co., Ltd. recently announced the winning bid for its electric container truck surface transportation outsourcing project (from December 2025 to November 2028). The project was won by Senior Auto, with a winning bid price of 22.22 yuan per TEU, representing a total value of 150 million yuan over the three-year service period.
It is understood that Senior Auto has been providing autonomous horizontal transport services to Daxie Terminal of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port since 2021. The signing of the world’s first L4 autonomous driving operation agreement between the two parties marks a significant milestone in the commercialization of autonomous driving in Chinese ports.
It is reported that Senior Auto has previously deployed 32 autonomous container trucks at Daxie Terminal. This project will involve deploying no fewer than 60 autonomous container trucks by the end of 2025, forming a fleet of 100 autonomous vehicles to provide transportation services.

Based on the newly added port autonomous driving projects in China this year, this project is the largest in scale so far this year, both in terms of the number of autonomous trucks deployed and the total service period amount.
Summary of Domestic Port Autonomous Driving Projects by 2025 (Compiled from public information. If there are any omissions, please make a correction!)
Ports, as one of typical application scenarios for low-speed autonomous driving, offer ideal testing grounds and application scenarios for autonomous vehicles due to their relatively closed operating environment, predictable driving routes, and high requirements for transportation efficiency and safety. Currently, a number of technologically advanced companies with clear business models have emerged in the industry, including Westwell, Senior Auto, and FABU.AI.
According to New Strategy Low-Speed Automated Driving All Media, these representative companies have not only established cooperative relationships with more ports domestically this year, demonstrating strong market competitiveness. For example, Senior Auto’s recent successful bid for the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port Daxie Terminal transportation project is its eighth publicly reported port autonomous driving project this year, making it the “bid king” in this field.
Significant breakthroughs have also been achieved overseas. For example, Westwell announced last month the delivery of its second batch of 34 Q-Truck autonomous trucks to the Port of Felixstowe, a subsidiary of Hutchison Port Holdings, bringing the total number of Q-Trucks in service at the port to 68. This month, it also announced an expansion project for its autonomous vehicle fleet at COSCO Shipping Ports Abu Dhabi Terminal, with the first batch of three (out of a planned six) Q-Chassis autonomous heavy-duty IGV arriving.

FABU.AI successfully won a bid in early 2025 for the construction and upgrade of a fully automated terminal in the Asia-Pacific region. Currently, its cooperation intentions with several large overseas ports are also steadily progressing and being implemented, and its service network will cover multiple countries and regions.

The innovations and breakthroughs of these representative companies have set a benchmark for autonomous ports and the entire low-speed autonomous driving industry. Their successful experiences fully demonstrate that low-speed autonomous driving has moved beyond the initial stage of technology verification and is entering a golden age of large-scale, commercial applications with unstoppable momentum.
