On July 15, Dobot Robotics, the “first stock of cobots”, issued an announcement stating that it planned to issue 19.1 million new H shares. The shares issued this time account for about 4.51% of the company’s total share capital after allotment and issuance.

In terms of the amount of funds raised, Dobot Robotics expects to raise about HK$ 1.037 billion and a net amount of about HK$ 1.022 billion. It plans to invest this money mainly in: promoting technical research and product innovation in the field of intelligent robots, further expanding the group’s market share, and laying a solid foundation for the long-term development of this field; exploring investment, acquisition and strategic alliance opportunities in the robot value chain and adjacent fields; expanding and deepening domestic and foreign sales networks, strengthening market promotion to increase penetration and brand awareness; and supplementing working capital to meet daily business operations.
The placement price of Dobot Robotics is HK$ 54.30 per share, which is about 9.5% lower than the closing price of HK$ 60.00 per H share on the last trading day and the day when the placement price was determined on the HKEX; the average closing price of H shares per share in the five consecutive trading days immediately before the last trading day (including that day) is HK$ 57.91, which is about 6.2% lower.
As of today, the total market value of Dobot Robotics is HK$ 23.969 billion.
It is worth noting that this placement is less than 8 months away from its listing. On December 23, 2024, Dobot Robotics was listed on the HKEX, issuing a total of 44.1954 million shares at an IPO issue price of HK$ 18.80 per share, raising approximately HK$ 831 million, and becoming the third special technology company to be listed through Chapter 18C.
Founded in 2015, Dobot Robotics has formed a rich product matrix after years of deep cultivation, launching 27 cobot models such as CRA, CR, CRS, MG400, M1Pro, Nova, Magician, etc., to meet many scenarios such as industrial manufacturing, retail, medical surgery, STEAM education, scientific research, etc.
According to the shipment volume in 2023, Dobot Robotics ranked first among all cobot companies in China and ranked in the top two in the global cobot industry. The cumulative global shipment volume has reached 72,000 units, and the business covers more than 80 countries and regions around the world.
