Technology complementarity shared advantages.
Early this month, NTT DATA, a leader in digital business and IT services announced an agreement with Hyster-Yale Group (HYG) to jointly develop groundbreaking robotic technology for automated forklift solutions. In addition, NTT DATA will be responsible for ongoing maintenance and installation support, wireless assessment services, and system integration services.
Prasoon Saxena, President of Manufacturing at NTT DATA Services, stated, “NTT DATA is proud to expand its collaboration with Hyster-Yale through this robotic forklift initiative. Integrating NTT DATA’s broader digital capabilities in forklifts, including software product engineering, networking, cloud computing, and consulting, will contribute to the transformation of the supply chain and logistics industry.”
David LeBlanc, President of the Technology Solutions Division at Hyster-Yale Group, said, “Our focus is on leveraging technology to address key labor and productivity challenges in material handling applications, and partnering with mature and reliable resources like NTT DATA makes sense.”
Hyster Corporation is a part of NACCO Industries, the largest business segment under the publicly traded New York Stock Exchange-listed company NACCO Industries, Inc. It holds a leading global position in the field of forklifts and warehouse equipment.
Previously, Hyster primarily collaborated with Balyo in the development of unmanned forklifts. In 2018, Balyo and Hyster Group concluded a three-year contract signed in October 2015, renewing it for a ten-year cooperation agreement.
