Recently, 2026 Beijing Commercial Space Industry High Quality Development Promotion Conference was successfully held in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. During the conference, a highlight was the successful connection of “Embodied Tien Kung”, a robot of Beijing Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics, to the Solar Array-Phased Array Integration New-Generation Communication Satellite of Galaxy Space, achieving synchronous transmission of robot visual data via low-orbit, high-throughput satellite networking.
This is the world’s first successful test of a humanoid intelligent robot directly connecting to a low-orbit satellite, and also China’s first time a new phased-array flat-panel low-orbit internet satellite has achieved multi-terminal, multi-link connectivity. It verifies stable operation capabilities without terrestrial network support. This breakthrough provides practical support for reliable communication of robots in outdoor scenarios and cross-industry integration, injecting new momentum into the construction of a space power.

This test directly addresses the pain points of “no network and poor communication” in outdoor robot operations, breaking the geographical limitations of terrestrial public networks. Through technical adaptation, it achieves seamless linkage between the robot, satellite, and unmanned systems, verifying the empowering ability of satellite interconnection for end-user intelligent devices. It forms a replicable cross-industry integration solution, laying the foundation for the extension of embodied intelligent robots to remote areas for inspection, emergency rescue monitoring, field exploration, mining operations, and other environments with no or weak network, replacing manual labor in high-risk operations, improving work scheduling and efficiency, and allowing “fully autonomous and more user-friendly” robots to realize their practical value.
