AMRs do not rely on external devices or markers like magnetic strips or QR codes for navigation. Instead, they autonomously sense and adapt to their environment through their own sensors and algorithms, allowing them to move and operate.
According to the data from China Mobile Robot (AGV/AMR) Industry Alliance (CMRA) and the statistics of New Strategy Mobile Robot Industry Research Institute (NSRI), approximate 122,000 AMRs were sold globally in 2024, accounting for 53.35% of the overall market. This marks the first time that AMR’s share has exceeded 50%. Based on current industry development, the proportion of AMRs in industrial automation and logistics is expected to continue to increase in 2025.
