Recently, X Square Robot announced the completion of 1 billion yuan A++ round of financing. This round of financing was jointly invested by top investment institutions such as ByteDance, Sequoia Capital China, SCGC, Beijing Information Industry Development Investment Fund, Nanshan SEI Investment, and Wuxi Finance Capital, as well as diverse local platforms.
It is worth noting that in September 2025, X Square Robot announced the completion of a 1 billion yuan financing round, with investors including Meituan and Alibaba Investment, becoming the only embodied intelligence company in China to simultaneously receive investment from three internet companies: ByteDance, Meituan, and Alibaba.
Founded in December 2023, X Square Robot established a branch office in Beijing in March 2024. It primarily focuses on the research and development of “general embodied large models,” providing a general large model base for robots. It is committed to building an integrated system architecture for unified perception, planning, and control, and constructing a general brain-cerebellum system for robots, providing end-to-end capabilities from perception to action.
Information shows that X Square Robot’ self-developed WALL-A model adopts an architecture that deeply integrates VLA and a world model. This model takes the robot’s visual, tactile, and vocal perception as input and directly outputs robot action commands.
Through spatiotemporal state prediction using a world model, combined with visual causal reasoning and a learnable memory mechanism, WALL-A significantly improves the robot’s zero-shot generalization ability in unstructured environments.
In September 2025, X Square Robot also open-sourced its end-to-end embodied foundation model, WALL-OSS, promoting technology adoption.
At the data level, as one of the earliest companies in China to collect real-machine data on a large scale, X Square Robot has developed various data acquisition devices, including master-slave remote control and exoskeletons, and established a model-driven data pipeline.
In terms of application scenarios, X Square Robot has entered multiple fields such as industrial manufacturing, logistics, and elderly care, and cross-industry applications have validated its high generalization and low-cost deployment capabilities.
