On May 28, Jinhua Public Resources Trading Network released the winning (transaction) results announcement of the cleaning marketization service project of Yongkang Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau. COWA ROBOT Co., Ltd. became the winning supplier with the highest total score.
It is understood that the project started bidding on May 7, and the service scope includes Dongcheng Street, Xicheng Street, Jiangnan Street, Economic Development Zone, High-tech Zone and other areas in Yongkang City. The service content includes road cleaning and maintenance, greening cleaning, garbage classification and collection, public toilet operation and maintenance, etc.
The project service period is 3 years, with a total budget of 288,690,000 yuan, and the final winning price is 283,469,958.81 yuan. In terms of equipment configuration, cleaning and sanitation operations require at least 99 vehicles, of which 34 are unmanned sanitation vehicles, including 10 unmanned cleaning vehicles, 10 unmanned road sweepers and 14 unmanned sweepers, with an unmanned equipment penetration rate of 34%.
It is worth mentioning that this is the 13th unmanned sanitation operation project that COWA ROBOT has won this year (excluding contract renewals), and the total amount of the project involved has exceeded 1 billion yuan.
With a potential scale of 800 billion yuan, the market opportunities are still huge
The Research Report on the Development of China’s Low-speed Unmanned Driving Industry in 2024-2025 shows that according to the statistics of the Low-speed Automated Driving Industry Alliance and the New Strategic Low-speed Automated Driving Industry Research Institute, in 2024, the cumulative shipments of major products in China’s cleaning and sanitation field will be about 13,000 units (excluding small household/wall cleaning/pool cleaning robots), and the market sales scale will be about 2.76 billion yuan. Among them, the sales volume of unmanned sweepers (sweeping robots) used in outdoor places such as municipal roads, parks, scenic spots, and squares is about 3,400 units.
According to the latest yearbook data of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People’s Republic of China, the market size of sanitation operation services (road sweeping and garbage removal) in cities and counties in China has reached nearly 300 billion yuan. There are still millions of residential communities, parks, schools, scenic spots, etc. with application conditions across the country. The market demand for sanitation robots is expected to reach 1.5 million to 2 million units, and the potential market size of overall sanitation operations and sanitation equipment sales can reach 800 billion yuan.
It is worth noting that the penetration rate of unmanned sweepers in the field of municipal sanitation in China will be less than 2% by the end of 2024, which shows that the market opportunities are still great. At the same time, the development of unmanned sanitation vehicle products and technologies in the future may focus on breaking through problems in product design, navigation positioning, big data processing, AI vision technology, etc.
